The red photo of Jose did not show up in the other post so here it is..
Archives for September 2010
These are two drawings I did last (Sunday) night. crappolla when it comes it flows and when it does not flow… Anyway, I was really happy with the way these turned out. The red one of my good buddy Jose is my fave of the series. It will probably be the best one and I won’t sell it!!! not that they will be seen…
This is supposed to be Tom P but it ended up looking like one of my former students? These things are hit or miss as portraits but I’m free-flowing them from an Iphone pic so I’m not really going for super realism anyway. I forgot what I call it. Just Lou stylization I guess. Its fun though. luv it!!
So I’m gonna do one more drawing and then spray these and scratch ’em out this weekend. I need to get more panels and prep them for more works. My GF suggested that I keep these separate from my Vamps series and go with the first self portrait style of guys for that one. I am going to take her advice on that one. Thank you thank you thank you for being there. Miss Xanga!!
It’s been a productive week once again. I finished 5 of the Dudes series. These three went down this week. You saw them previously as drawings.
This is The Reverse Scratch Technique. So they are paintings i guess… but more drawing than painting.
The pics are not the greatest but I don’t want to put good pics here. You have to come to the show that I don’t have planned so you can not see them!! ha
So, once again my paintings are still wet but they are getting there. So this weekend will be more of the same with the new series. I have three of the first five done and hope to finish 4 and 5 this weekend. If all goes well, I should be able to start a few more too.
This is #2 of the series:
I really wanted to do this art blog thing but I was a bit uncomfortable posting my art up… But with these it is fun and I don’t care too much so it’s all good. I take the painting too seriously and am kinda scared to show them to peeps. But I guess I should just go for it and post them up sometime too.
End of summer sessions are usually rad if people show up. It’s usually super good in the spring because everyone is hungry for it. By mid-summer people stop showing up and by August only the strong survive.
The weather finally broke and it got cooler out. So we enjoyed a few weeks of mild weather and less sweating. But now we are in for the Fall weather and rain and wind and leaves and stuff will come our way.
This was the weekend at the beach… end of summer for sure.
We were supposed to have the BOardMen BBQ on Saturday but it was unfortunately canceled due to rain in the morning. So Cappetto and I headed up to 4 seasons for shred. Others were supposed to show but Chicago weather has that effect on peeps.
The damn tile is falling off the wall in triplicate though. it has gotten to the point where I am so in tune that I can hear it bouncing down the wall as I come in from an air and am leaning back as not to wheel bite and fly into the next wall. Which has happened a few times already!! John totally flatspotted on Sunday. Get it fixed Neil!
Me and the Pirate poured this one a few weeks back. Pretty sad as I was supposed to have filled the back yard up by now…
We went back to catch the tail end of the ES demo and session. It was rad and we skated for like 7 hours and drove for like 7 hours that day…
Everyone was tired on Sunday..
But we managed. Sunday was kinda nice. It was supposed to rain but it didn’t, the sun was not too bright and the wind was just right. My radio worked. The BMXers left. Good stuff in hind sight. So I’m not really bummed that summer is over. I am looking forward to many indoor/outdoor sessions this fall.
Sunday night was even better!!!
