Next up is to get the cabinets and interior built.
I am using reclaimed wood from an old cabinet, poplar from a bunch of frames from my old paintings and pine from the stretchers.
The trick is to get them to conform with the curved surface of the cargo walls.
I used cardboard templates to get things going. Then cut out the sides and supports. I modeled the framing based on a mid-century record cabinet I have with sliding doors. I hope it is strong enough to hold up to the vibrations on the road.
I got everything cut out for the over head cabinets and the sides for the kitchen cabinet.
Next step was to feel out the seats that will convert to a bed. All reclaimed plywood and hopefully soon to work out.
I originally wanted to store my guitars under the seats but I decided to make a better choice and allow room for verticle closet space.
Once I sized the seating up I layed out a design and cut out the templates
I think it is going to work. Tonight I am at a video shoot for my bud’s band Last Last False Hope and tomorrow I have a gig in Indiana so I won’t be able to continue until Thursday… And the temp is dropping back to 16 degrees..
But I am happy with the layout so far..
