18hours of driving…
Archives for March 2013
We stayed in a campground in Northern Florida outside of Tallahassee.
Finally getting a proper shower and a good night sleep.
We got on the road for a bit and took lunch in a really nice state park.
I made coffee, noodles (for tomorrow) and peanut butter and stuff.
Lots of goodness.
I so badly wanted to shoot a vid but the time did not permit that. I planned tok much for this trip.
But what we did get to do was special and wonderful. I extremely grateful.
We stayed at a Wal-Mart van campin’ outside of New Orleans. Found a good spot and hunkered down. We were sooo tired!
I got up and made coffee and oatmeal for our breakfast! Soo good
We stopped in Bilouxi for a bit. Checked out the Gulf and the Bilouxi museum of art. Very cool
Tried for a few state parks but drove a lot today. My patience seemed to lessen as the temp got warmer 72 degrees! I wanted to skate so bad but no parks could be found and we are on a deadline. Have to be in Orlando to play a show tomorrow..
We stopped and called multiple state parks but they were all booked. I wanted hot showers and nature for us tonight. We did find a KOA which I am against using. However this one was good.
And we are just chillen, house battery is trickle charging, wifi works, steph is reading and serenity has taken us again.
I can not say enough about how great New Orleans is. The Only thing is not having enough time.
It has been a long time since I have been here and just don’t understand why its been so..
Love the art and architecture, the food and music, the folklore, culture and the people!
Steph had not been here before so I was realt excited to show her around and see her reaction to all of the cool things to do.
Losing the hole day plus not getting here until this morning limited our time unfortunately.
But we did a whole lot considering.
First stop was Cafe du monde for coffee and bignes sp?
It smelled and there were too many people but everybody needs to go at least once. Quality is way down though an the service was non existent.
We went to the Garden District and checked out the graveyards.
I used to spend a lot of time in these back in the day. I had a big obsession with N/O in the 90s.
We walked all over the French Quarter back and forth.. I had to keep moving the Sprinter because of parking.
I got a parking ticket despite being very cautious… Every trip… But it was only 20bucks.
My phone died around 4pm so no more pics after that.. But we chilled in the van for a bit which was nice. Then went for dinner and had crawfish ettoufee sp and alligator!
