This was supposed to be a weekender but unfortunately circumstances the currently destroyed my soul panned out in a way that left me extremely off.
Somehow I got myself out of the house and on the road.
I made a glorious stop in the Starved Rock State Park area near the river.
I took a mini hike up the bluff an did my best to keep it together. One foot in front of the other.
Nature’s beauty eventually got me back to an alert state of mind.
Lovin the Mississippi and the Kanakakee rivers. I was able to visit them and think some things through. I have a little better understanding but still can’t accept it.
Nature can heal or help at least. I only wish she could have looked out at the river with me and remember.
I took a little time to check out the town and shot some pics. The one thing I have to remember is to take time. When I am alone, it is really difficult for me to take extra time to enjoy the smells, the silence, the sun. She was so good at that. So good at don’ting.
I am a do’er, she was a dont’er
I went out to skate the park and just kind of cruised it. Took some runs. It is not my favorite style of park so I just kinda did my thing for a while.
I decided to go check out Antique Archeology in nearby Le Claire. I always loved the show but never made it to the shop.
Big fun! I was really getting back to my old self. But I need to be a new self. I told her last night that I died. But I am like a phoenix. So new day, new me…
I got to Ribco early and loaded in. See the Music blog for the show pics..
